Linux Survey

Here is a survey I am actually excited about. The biggest thing holding linux back from becoming a competetor to windows is the software people have become dependant upon in windows, that is not also made for linux. (some software companies dont see a need to make a linux version because most people use windows) Well when a heavy hitter like novell decides to listen to the people and push a few software companies to make linux versions, its a big deal. I am not anti-microsoft or anti-big-business, I just believe that there needs to be some competition. So here is the link for the survey if you want you can use fake names: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tip/16646.html
here are some preliminary results: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/16798.html

P.S. Don't say microsoft office or aim. There are already programs like those for linux.

let me know what you voted for, or just call me a geek.

Care Bear Stare, you ravioli smelling ******

I am beginning to have a strong belief that most of the cartoons and shows made for young children are created by someone on some very strong narcotics. Like those wierd Boobah's http://pbskids.org/boohbah/boohbah.html, or teletubbies, or care bears with their freaky stare and symbols coming from their belly, the wiggles, mr. rogers etc...

Howeber, I have been enjoying a healthy helping of Zoe 101 and lizzy mcguire on the disney channel lately. Those kids have good heads on their shoulders.

Oh and one more thing...

Nobody knows where the toes goes when the doors (pronounced doe's) close.

Radio

No, I don't have anything cool to say. Nothing about recording music tracks, getting the runs, changing my hair, posting lyrics to cool songs, researching critters, ways to annoy people or anything like that. But what I can say is...

If anyone is considering Satellite radio, Sirius is the type to get. A few of my friends have xm and I have listened to it alot. Then I got sirius radio, and I find the programming to be much better. Sure the hardware for xm is better, but what you end up paying the most for is the subscription, so you may as well get the best content. And you know, it is like cable TV, regular radio is painful to listen to now.

My son is sleeping right now. He is such a sweet little guy.

Picture Idea

Okay, I believe pictures from "The Dini Event" need to be shared. I have, in my hands, a computer shopper magazine with a review of photo sharing websites. (it would probably be easier to do it this way than it is to just post them in our journals) I suggest we decide on a common site to use to share these pictures. (if someone has a better idea then just tell me to shut up and tell me what it is) The following is a list of the free pictures sites that they review:

1. Club photo (www.clubphoto.com)
Storage space: Unlimited
Supported file types: JPEG
Video Support: no
Full Res viewing: With paid membership
Special features: Public Galleries, photo downloading to palm OS, album viewing on cell phones.
Print Purchasing from site: yes

2.
Oh yeah, I forgot. In that same study...

Licorice is the scent that was found to turn women on the most.
And the number one turn-off for women during foreplay is the mis-handling of the breasts. Appearantly most guys are to rough with the puppies.

I love statistics and surveys and demographics and all that stuff...

Here are a few interesting ones I heard today:
1. The average female has kissed 79 guys prior to marriage.
2. The average female has had sex with 19 guys prior to marriage.
3. The average female has used 10 guys (that had a crush on her just to get what she wanted-drinks,cars,etc.) for every 1 guy she has been in love with.
There where others, those were just the most surprising. At least to me.

Hello to the new friends. I had a good time in california with you all.
Hello to the old friends. Sorry I haven't updated in a while, but we all lose track sometime.

You must comment.
Enhance...

You all tell me to update once in a while so i will since i have a moment. I just finished a bunch of work but i'm stuck here till 3:54. No one else is here because everyone likes to time their week to get out early on fridays. I could do that to, but i havent had the time to. I do like my job. I can leave as early as i want some days, so long as i make up the time by the end of the week. I can come back to work late from lunch and not have to make up that time. I have my own cubicle with my own phone, a high power computer, and a filing cabinet. Oh yeah...I'm in the big time, haha. I spend most of my lunches here, playing LAN games with co-workers. I have a bonsai tree at my desk. Its on the oposite side of my little buddha. I just hope no one here thinks i am a monk. I was bored the other day, so i decided to take a picture of chewbacca and mount it on a piece of cardboard and make a small cardboard stand up of chewy. He's about 4" tall. (Yes i know, I have a small wookie) We have an inspection of the St. Clair Shores house coming up. Us buying the house depends on the inspection. Its a nice brick house with a basement and a garage. Its in a nice part of st. clair shores. I think i should get going now its time for me to leave. Have a nice weekend. *sticks his toungue out*

Just some random stuff

Like i said before, i think of all this stuff i want to put in my journal and i always forget when its time to update. So im gonna give it a shot now....

I think the Rock music genre is going to adopt a female badass singer soon. Its just been to long since there was one. (and not that 12 year old avril levigne)

I am happy that Tim Burton is going to remake Willie Wonka. He is really a fantastic artist. Johnny depp is gonna play Wonka. Ever since Fear and loathing in las vegas, i have a new respect for his acting ability.

I think Super Troopers and The Crow are two of the best movies ever made.

Life is scary. to many decisions to make.

This is a cool quote i found, "We shall draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival." - Sir Winston Churchill

There you go. theres a dose of non-sense for ya. I'll update with a better post for ya later.

I was inspired to write this...

Please, think of this metaphorically.

Trials of Life
Stand in the middle of the forest. Look around at the beauty. See the trees that have grown from seedlings, the flowers that have bloomed from year to year. Breathe the air that, in itself, provides a sense of comfort and eases your heart and mind. Stand there. Realize how fantastic it all is. The forest is your life. It contains all of the things you have created and gained; family, friends, objects. All that you rely on. One day, inevitably, something will happen.
A fire. Sometimes it starts small, sometimes not. Sometimes you don't know why it started, sometimes you know all about it. But it can't be stopped. You can see all the things around you that you once relied on, burn. Spreading uncontrollably, you try to save all that you can. Most of your actions are futile. All you can do is just stand there watching this beautiful forest that is now engulfed in flames. All that you knew, engulfed. But you must stand there. Do not run. Do not throw yourself into the fire. Stand there and take whatever heat the fire has to throw. It may seem to last for years, but fire can not burn forever.
The fire will one day end. And you will hopefully be standing in the same place. Your face will be blackened from the remnants of the nightmarish period of all that you love going away. As you look around at the gray, charred, remains of it all, you feel somewhat relieved that the worst is over. You look around and see a few of you friends and family still standing, barely, like you, exhausted from the fight to stay alive. Those few are the ones still with you. Still you must keep standing. Keep standing, because as a promise from God, the forest will come back to life. Slowly, new growth will form. Soon flowers, and trees. There is always a new beauty after every fire. You will again stand in your forest and find comfort in the beauty of your life.

I write this from my own experiences, and hope it will be helpful to all who read it.

Trying to update. Its 7:16am on a sunday and i cant sleep. Some things I could write about, but i wont. I like to keep them to myself. When someone speaks of a loss, and the other person says, "I'm sorry to hear about that." Are you supposed to respond with "thank you"? I guess your supposed to acknowledge their sympathy, but "thank you" to me, sounds like your excepting people feeling sorry for you. hmmm.

Emotions are hard to talk about. The reason for this is that everyone is different. No one feels things in the same way, so they never REALLY know how you feel. Sure if you try and explain, they may get an idea, but not a precise idea. Emotions have to many elements in different amounts. Like a recipe. "A pinch of this, a cup of that, a tinge of something else" rarely cut-and-dry. hmmm....I just ran out of steam. That happens alot when i try and update. I start typing, then just fizzle out. I guess i have more energy to do stuff and accomplish things than talk about my feelings, or update my journal.

But its better than having energy to update my journal, and not having energy to accomplish anything else.

You are JEFFERSON. You are the impressive skyline
that shows off the Motorcity to its canadian
neighbors. Your busstle of business people are
a little pretentious, yes, but they are what
gives the city a little credibility on the
national playing field.

What Detroit City Street Are You??
brought to you by Quizilla

ever changing....

Ya know....I have all these great ideas throughout the day of what to post in my journal.
But, by the time i get to post them my mood has changed and i say just forget it. But not this time damn it!

I have been thinking about death lately. But for the most part, its not morbid and dark. I think of things that i would want at my funeral.
I had the idea of putting up a stand with my picture on it, and having a tape recorder nearby. A person would come up to it and push a button and it would go into a topic of conversation, and the person (to an extent) could have a conversation with me long after i am gone. But i abandoned this idea since it may freak people out.
Also i thought of the list of songs i want played at my funeral. Anyone who loves music mentions this at one point or another, during the playing of their favorite songs. Its a great idea to want people to capture an emotion similar to what you felt, and rekindle it whenever they choose if they buy the cd. But, most people dont follow thru with the list, and if they do they tend to leave out some of their previous favorites. I may actually try and make a list.
I want to donate my organs. I want my incredible organs to live on another hundred years than they are supposed to. I wonder if you can make an agreement that if I where to donate, that recipient must donate those same organs. That would be great that more than one person can benefit from my fantastic organs.

It also occured to me today, as it sometimes does when i have one of those moments of euphoria, that i have lived a good life. I know there are many aspects of life that i have not experienced, but I have experienced quite a bit. I have made a few people happy, and more than a few have made me happy.
Admittedly, I tend to MOURN for good times past. But, if Tao Te Ching(a fantastic book and i strongly suggest it to anyone with an open mind) has taught me anything, its that you must experience things, then let them pass, and be grateful you had them. Because, in the very long run, those memories are all you have.

(cracks knuckles) well alright....

I tried to avoid it all blowing up. I tried to keep it all just between sean and I but apparently he cant handle it himself.

nicole and jason....or should i say "fart and sniff". Nicole and her little pet.

Hey nicole, attack dog, would you like some snausages? Did you ever notice that i never replied to your comments in the past? Its because it was more amusing to me than anything that i had the power to ruin your whole day just by minding my own business and stating my opinion in an optionally read journal. It would make you so angry.....hehe. I got a kick out of it. But you need to stay out of things you dont understand little girl. Its over your head.

Jason, its all you have in life is being sarcastic and thinking that you see things clearer than everyone else......poor guy. If thats what you have to do to feel special in your own little world, knock your self out. But who are you? You are nothing to me, so why are you commenting?

Why do i mean so much to you all that you have to fight to keep me around? Why do you want my attention so bad? The more comments, the more ridiculous you look. It displays your obsession with me perfectly. Just let me go and mourn for your loss. Thank you. (curtain closes)

Just one year ago.....

Thursday, January 10th, 2002
12:28 pm I am starving
I am not angry at the people giving me advise. I am just extremely frustrated and i feel that i am being pushed tword a crack in the earth and if i dont jump to the other side i will fall, but everyone is telling me not to jump. They are saying that maybe this unseen force pushing me will just stop. Well, for the last three years, I have jumped many cracks and this force has been unrelenting and i dont see now as any special time for it to stop. I see that peril coming and i see there is no other way but to jump. All of these people are telling me not to jump, but i dont see anybody on this planet handing me a rope to help. Its not like i only have another semester to go to get my degree. I have about another six years! And its not like there is a time limit. I can and will go back. I cannot make a mistake. I will not make a mistake. No matter who tells me to make a mistake, I will do whats best. As a friend of mine once said "I have to control my own life"(paraphrase) I am starving today because i cant afford to eat, but i should continue school no matter what right? Yeah sure borrowing money from friends is possible, but it doesnt change the fact that i cannot afford it on my own. I am no longer going to sit and hope things get better. Fate has made it perfectly clear that it wont. and i will not be backed into a corner by anyone who thinks they know whats best for me. I am a rabbid animal and i will bite. Hope doesnt pay the bills.

Check the original entry for the comments.
Thanks to the matt supporters!
